Dr. Mojtaba Shariati Niasar, Professor of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering, has been appointed as the new Director of the Institute of Petroleum Engineering.

According to the Public Relations of College of Engineering, Dr. Mojtaba Shariati Niasar completed his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering at the University of Wales and his master's and doctorate at UMIST University.

Among his executive responsibilities was the Deputy for Education at the Ministry of Science, Research and Technology.

He is currently the Dean of the Faculty of Chemical Engineering at the Technical Faculties. He was the Dean of the Faculty of Engineering from 1995 to 1998. He also served as the Dean of the Fouman Faculty of Engineering for a while.
